The latest news from China is fascinating - six percent of the caterpillars on the cotton crop that are usually nuked by drenching with (Monsanto?) poisons now have a mutated gene that resists the assault. The gene is dominant, which is an unusual phenomenon, so that it no longer takes two to tango. What this means, essentially, is that the world cotton crop, one of the most toxin-laden, is under threat.
One sincerely hopes that this does not mean that even more toxic chemicals will be used, although in the short term it probably does.
Nature is fighting back hard, and if this happens with GM crops of every sort (and there is no reason why it should not), then a big re-think will have to occur. Farmers will start to question why on earth they have bought into this massive fraud.
